Garden Tracker lets you size and plan your garden plot, plant your vegetables, and then track their progress.
For more information about this app, or for questions or comments, please visit our website.
When you first use Garden Tracker, you will see a window with a list labeled Gardens on the left and a green area on the right. The Gardens list is where your gardens can be selected, and the green area shows the grid of plants for the currently selected garden.
To add a garden, click the + button at the top left in the toolbar. Then enter the name of your new garden and the number of rows and columns, and press the Add button.
After adding the garden, a grid of brown squares is shown on the right side of the window in the green area. Each brown square is where a plant can be planted.
To delete one or more gardens, select the gardens in the list on the left, then press the gear button and select Delete from the menu.
To plant a vegetable, fruit, herb, flower, grain, or hardscape, position the mouse over a brown square, and then click and drag it across all squares where you want to plant. Then right-click to bring up the planting menu. If you have a trackpad, click on it with two fingers.
On the planting menu, click Plant to select a plant for the selected squares. Then click the desired plant from the list, and click on the Plant Seed or Plant Seedling button at the bottom. Planting by seedling subtracts 15 days from the time to harvest for vegetables and fruits.
When you right-click on squares where plants have been planted, a menu will appear that lets you plant, water, fertilize, treat, harvest, dig up, or record the current plants in the selected squares. After you record this information in your gardens, you will be able to see the days since the action occurred in the grid itself by pressing the button with an image of a square with numbers in it (second from the right in the toolbar).
The Days Till Harvest shows how many days till harvest in orange. These depend on the plants characteristics and whether it was planted by seed or seedling. If it was planted by seedling, 15 days will be subtracted from the days to harvest for vegetables and fruits.
Click the button at the far right of the toolbar and then click History to see and change the history of the selected squares. If more than one square is selected, you can change the values by checking the box beside the value you want to change.
You can also add notes on a per-square basis.
In the Key Events, only planted dates, move in and move out dates, and dates where the plant is dug up are recorded.
To see the estimated yield of a garden, click the button at the far right of the toolbar and then click Yield. The number of squares and expected weight of the vegetables and fruits will be shown.
Note: yields are rough estimates only.
If you change your mind about the dimensions of a garden, or want to add notes to it, you can do so by clicking on the gear icon in the toolbar.
Press the Save button when you are done with your changes for the garden.
